great selection of natural wines with reasonable retail prices. nice outdoor patio area as well as seats inside. great recommendations by the staff but their customer service for sit down could use a little work

Vino Carta is the kind of spot you hope to stumble upon—laid-back, welcoming, and perfect for catching up with friends over a glass (or two) of great wine. The ambiance is calm and cozy, with enough space and quiet to actually have a conversation, play a board game, or just unwind. One of the best parts? It’s super dog-friendly. I brought rocket (my charming golden retriever) and were greeted by Koa, the friendly resident dog who makes the space feel even more like home. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t try too hard—just good people, good wine, and a great atmosphere in one of San Diego’s most charming neighborhoods. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a chill spot in Little Italy to relax with friends, sip something interesting, and feel right at home.

We came here to get a wedding gift for a friend and asked for some assistance. The sommelier at the register said he would be with us in a second. He seemed to maybe try to help us but also didn't seem very engaged at all. Some attitude and lack of enthusiasm. We mentioned that the wine was for a wedding gift and was requested to have meaning. He basically shut that down saying that meaning is subjective to everyone, vs giving a suggestion on some kind of Love Story wine. All the wines he suggested we asked if he tried and he said absolutely not. We ended up buying the most expensive wine we could see at 200$ and left. If we had known there were other wine shops around the corner, we would have gone somewhere else .

Stopped by while waiting for an appointment, solo, midday. Chill, comfortable vibe with great music. Beautiful display of wines to take home. Snacks available to enjoy with your wine. Enjoyed a glass of Deperu Holler Familia from Sardinia. Fruit forward, excellent body. I inquired about their vino club. Well worth the excuse to visit each month to pick up my two bottles for $60. Enjoyed the solo experience but look forward to bringing friends. Vino Carta you gained a new loyal customer.

Not a lot of options for flights and limited food options. A 1/2 glass is pretty small - but probably exactly what it should be. I almost gave a 3 but I really appreciated the help from one of the staff with selecting a bottle of wine to cork and enjoy while at the bar. She said that if I didn't like it, they'd take the bottle back - which I appreciated. Also, we brought our own food and they didn't mind that we enjoyed with our bottle. We also ordered the albacore tuna crudo which was pretty good. Overall, it's prob better to consider this spot as a wine store that allows u to enjoy it onsite + decent good advice on wines. Plus some food options. Limited wines to taste.
